Learn about the moving practices of the Mexican fiesta, Dia de los Muertos, from Rene De Los Santos. He shares this powerful tradition of how to honor those who have passed on but are still important in your life. Day of the Dead is November 2, so you will be prepared to celebrate!
Please bring with you:
- photographs or favorite foods of your beloved family who have passed on.
- Wear bright clothing: it’s a party!
Rene will tell us about the fiesta, show how to set up an Muertos Altar, and invite us to reflect & share, as you feel comfortable. This event is appropriate for folks age 12 and up.
This event will be offered both IN PERSON AND ONLINE.
If attending IN PERSON, please plan to mask and, if you are an adult, bring proof of vaccination. Seating will be set up to allow distance between households. It will take place on the 2nd floor of the University Heights Center, where there is abundant free parking. Details sent as you RSVP.
The ONLINE event will take place over ZOOM, with a link sent as you RSVP.
Rene (pronouns he/him) is the Latino & Community Outreach Coordinator and Diversity & Inclusión Trainer for the YMCA of Snohomish County and a member of Gathering Ground’s Leadership Team.
