Rooting in Lineage (Hybrid)

  • Zoom and Montlake Tot Lot East Lynn Street and 26th Avenue East Seattle, WA (map)

Tibetan Buddhist refuge tree (Longchen Nyingthig)

We come from many lineages. Wisdom lineages, justice-seeking lineages, lineages of working with the earth and with community.

We also come from difficult lineages, lineages of repeating cycles of suffering. We come from lineages full of complexity, healing-and-harming lineages, nuanced lineages.

We’ll be reflecting on the lineages we want to honor, nourish, and carry on to the future. We’ll be rooting into the strong, beautiful, and nourishing qualities of our lineages.

If you are joining on Zoom, you are invited to have some art supplies (such as paper, pencils or markers, etc) on hand

This will be an outdoors hybrid gathering. We’ll be gathering in our regular grove of large cedar and sequoia trees at the Arboretum (Searchable as Montlake Tot Lot, we meet about 40ft to the right/south of the playground, here is a map pin of our location). You can also join us on Zoom. We’ll bring some spare camping chairs and ground cloths, and folks can also bring their own seats if convenient to ensure we have enough seating.

If desired, bring snacks to share.

Email gatheringround.seattle@gmail.com for any questions or access needs and to get the Zoom link.

Accessibility: There is abundant free street parking. No steps and a fairly level ground. From the street there are approximately 40 ft of flat dirt trail to our meeting spot. Please don't hesitate to reach out if this or anything else would be barrier to you so we can find ways to make the gathering accessible. Nearest restroom at the Montlake Library 2 blocks away.

COVID Safety Plan: Masks optional. Please stay home if you are having symptoms of anything contagious. If you need different guidelines, please email gatheringround.seattle@gmail.com so we can talk about an inclusive plan.
