Gathering Ground provides community for people of many beliefs – on many journeys – to share and forge meaning.
What do we do? We share tools for participating in activities, then reflect, listen, and share our discoveries. Together we take a journey inward to truth and a journey outward to the world. We are a queer-friendly and justice-seeking group of many beliefs. Our shared identity is earth-centered and DIY making of meaning and fun. Our motto is: Do stuff. Reflect. Connect.
During 2024, here’s how to join in: We meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays. We typically gather once online and once in person each month. We meet under a grove of trees and in other outdoor settings, or indoors during the cold wet months. We host larger public gatherings for Summer Solstice & Winter Solstice, and half-day retreats for Spring and Autumn Equinox.
This year, we are gathering around the theme of imperfection. Things fail to live up to how we and others would like them to be. We experience limitations, illness, disability, and death – as individuals, families, societies, and ecosystems. What is (im)perfect, and who decides? How do we respond to “imperfection” in ourselves and in the world around us? How do we find wisdom (or beauty, joy, or love) in “imperfection”?
Join us as we share, read, move, create, rest, and play with imperfection!
