Native Plant Walk at Carkeek

  • Carkeek Park 950 Northwest Carkeek Park Road Seattle, WA, 98177 United States (map)

Join us on a stroll through Carkeek Park. We’ll be guided by Donna, who will share her knowledge of native plants. We’ll also learn about Carkeek’s beaver dam, salmon stream restoration projects, sewage treatment facility, 120-year-old apple orchard, and indigenous history — so many ways humans have been and continue to be in relationship with this place.

We’ll be meeting in the general vicinity of the information kiosk near the first parking spots, just past the pump station. Here is the location on Google Maps. If you come later in the gathering, send an email or text to try and find us (heads up — connection in some areas of the park can be spotty).

Email gatheringround.seattle@gmail.com for any questions or access needs.

Accessibility: There is free parking. We will be walking on packed earth trails, some are sloped. There may be mud. It is a 1 mile hilly walk to the nearest bus stop; please reach out if you would like to carpool or get a ride from the bus stop.

COVID Safety Plan: Masks optional. Please stay home if you are having symptoms of anything contagious. If you need different guidelines, please email gatheringround.seattle@gmail.com so we can talk about an inclusive plan.
