Rooting in Practice (Hybrid)

Traditions (spiritual, justice-seeking, and more) often speak of walking a path, and practices are how we walk that path. Practice can be a source of nourishment and a refuge in difficult times. Through practice, we grow and transform ourselves and the world around us. We’ll be collectively exploring our curiosity, questions, and wisdom around practice. What are we practicing? Where and when do we practice? (In our beds, at a shrine, in the woods, a studio, a dojo, at a rally?) Where do we hope our practices can bring us, as individuals and as a community?

This will be our first experiment with an outdoors hybrid gathering! We’ll be gathering in our regular grove of large cedar and sequoia trees at the Arboretum (Searchable as Montlake Tot Lot, we meet about 40ft to the right/south of the playground). You can also join us on Zoom. We’ll bring some spare camping chairs and ground cloths, and folks can also bring their own seats if convenient to ensure we have enough seating.

If desired, bring snacks to share.

Email gatheringround.seattle@gmail.com for any questions or access needs and to get the Zoom link.

Accessibility: There is abundant free street parking. No steps and a fairly level ground. From the street there are approximately 40 ft of flat dirt trail to our meeting spot. Please don't hesitate to reach out if this or anything else would be barrier to you so we can find ways to make the gathering accessible.

COVID Safety Plan: Masks optional. Please stay home if you are having symptoms of anything contagious. If you need different guidelines, please email gatheringround.seattle@gmail.com so we can talk about an inclusive plan.
